Privacy notice

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the date you joined, and where the visit came from: the page’s campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and ref) and the referring site, when there are any.

We read those tags from the link you arrived by and keep them only while the page is open, to credit a signup to that link. Nothing is stored on your device.

When you press Join, your browser answers a quick automated check from Vercel, our host, so scripts can’t sign up other people’s addresses.

We count visits and clicks with Vercel’s analytics and with PostHog, hosted in the EU. Neither uses cookies, stores anything on your device, or follows you across sites. PostHog sees the pages you open, what you click, your browser and device type, and the link’s campaign tags, never what you type. To tell one visitor from another within a day, it makes a code from your IP address and browser that changes daily, and it doesn’t keep your IP address. The site itself sets no cookies.

The video on the homepage plays from YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Then YouTube’s player loads from youtube-nocookie.com, and Google sees your IP address and that you watched, and may store data on your device, under Google’s privacy policy.

Why we use it

To send you a confirmation, tell you when your access is ready, and send occasional product news before launch. Campaign tags show us which links bring people in. We don’t sell your email or share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that host this site, measure visits, store the waitlist, send our emails, and play the homepage video, and only so they can do that for us.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe and ask us to delete it, or until we stop running the waitlist. Unsubscribing stops every email at once; your address stays on file only so we know not to email you.

Your choices

Every email has an unsubscribe link. To see, correct, or delete what we hold about you, email hello@ploten.dev and we’ll do it.
